What the current PFAS report covers

Report EFW726020391, issued 6 February 2026, describes a submitted TPU-based waterproof barrier film intended for the leak-proof layer of menstrual underwear. The listed PFAS were reported as not detected at the report’s reporting limits.

This is a material-level report. It does not establish PFAS results for every finished garment, shell, lining, trim, print, adhesive or colour.

What finished-garment testing adds

A finished-garment test identifies the actual sample and includes the materials and processes that make up the product. It is the appropriate route when the intended market claim applies to the finished item rather than to a barrier material alone.

How to plan the test

  • Identify the exact style, size, colour and bill of materials
  • Choose a laboratory and method accepted for the target market
  • Record pre-treatment, sample preparation and reporting limits
  • Define which components and PFAS analytes are included
  • Keep the report reference with the approved product specification

Claim wording

Do not convert a targeted ND result into “zero PFAS” or “PFAS-free for every product”. Write the claim around the tested sample, method, reporting limits and scope. A new material or construction should trigger a new review.

PFAS testing questions

Does EFW726020391 cover finished period underwear?

No. It covers a submitted TPU-based barrier film. Finished-garment testing is a separate scope.

What does ND mean?

Not detected at the report’s stated reporting limits. It is not proof that every possible PFAS compound is absent from every component.

Can a report cover future colours?

Do not assume it does. A new colour, print, adhesive or trim may require a new review or test.

PFAS-Free Period Underwear: What Testing Should Cover

Why Test Finished Garments

PFAS can enter through waterproof membranes, coatings, finishes and trims. Testing a raw roll does not capture the effect of processing, so brands should ask for finished-garment reports.

What a Useful Report Shows

  • The lab and the method
  • The exact sample, with fabric description
  • The date
  • The list of PFAS compounds tested and the limits used

Questions for Your Supplier

  • Was the finished garment tested?
  • Does the report cover the style I am buying, or a similar one?
  • How often is testing repeated?

At Ljvogues

Our current report EFW726020391 covers a submitted TPU-based barrier film. It is not a finished-garment report for every style. If the selected bill of materials or intended market claim requires finished-garment testing, we scope that test in the project plan and provide the report for the exact sample tested.
