How to verify the product against a certificate
- Open the current certificate file and read the scope schedule.
- List the actual shell, lining, barrier, elastic, lace, thread, print and label.
- Check whether each component is listed or must be pre-certified separately.
- Confirm the production route and any transaction-certificate requirement.
- Keep the approved document with the product specification and do not paraphrase it into a broader claim.
GOTS and transaction certificates
The GOTS scope certificate defines the audited operation and product scope. It does not prove that a delivered order is GOTS certified. A valid transaction certificate is required for the goods, and the final fibre content, components and label use must be confirmed.
Certificate questions
Does the GOTS scope certificate cover every shipment?
No. The scope certificate defines the operation and product scope; a transaction certificate is required for the delivered goods.
Does OEKO-TEX cover every future fabric or trim?
No. Check the current scope against the exact construction and accessories selected.
Does ISO 9001 certify product performance?
No. The supplied certificate covers sales activities for the listed products, not product safety or absorbency.
