Period Underwear Reorders: Changes & Retesting
Plan reorders with approved BOM versions, retained samples and material-change reviews.
A reorder is not automatically a repeat
A second production run can differ if the fabric lot, colour, trim, pattern version, packaging artwork or subcontractor changes. Change control protects the approved product and makes the new order easier to compare.
Keep a production reference pack
- Approved pattern and measurement sheet
- Bill of materials with supplier and reference numbers
- Approved gusset cross-section and layer sequence
- Signed PP sample photographs and comments
- Approved labels, packaging artwork and carton marks
- Inspection plan and test report references
What to review before a reorder
| Change | Possible action |
|---|---|
| New fabric lot | Check handfeel, stretch, shade and test scope |
| New colour or print | Approve lab dip or strike-off and update packing |
| New gusset material | Review construction, bulk and testing |
| New factory route | Confirm process control and certificate scope |
| New packaging | Approve filled mock-up and barcode placement |
Write the change down
A verbal approval is difficult to audit later. Record the change, the reason, the person who approved it and the date. If the change affects a public claim, update the evidence and listing wording before the new stock ships.
Reorder questions
Do you keep the approved sample?
A retained reference helps compare the next run, subject to the agreed retention period and record-keeping process.
Does a new colour require new testing?
Do not assume the previous report covers it. Review the material, process and intended claim.
Can packaging change without a new garment sample?
The garment may not need a new sample, but a filled packaging mock-up should still be approved.
Have a style in mind?
Send a sketch, tech pack or reference garment. We will reply with a development route.
