How to Review Period Underwear Development Samples
Use measurements, marked photos and structured feedback to review fit, gusset placement, fabric and construction.
Write comments that can be acted on
“Too tight” or “not comfortable” is not enough for a pattern maker to make a controlled revision. A useful sample comment identifies the size, measurement point, wear position and intended correction.
A sample review structure
| Area | Record |
|---|---|
| Fit | Rise, waist, hip, leg opening and gusset position |
| Comfort | Pressure point, edge friction and movement issue |
| Construction | Seam, bond, layer alignment and bulk |
| Appearance | Print position, colour, trim and finishing |
| Function | Gusset coverage, movement and intended test target |
| Approval | Accept, revise or reject with a named owner and date |
Use measurements and photos together
Measurements explain how the garment differs from the specification. Photos show where the issue appears in wear or construction. Keep both with the sample number so a later PP sample can be checked against the same issue.
Do not reopen approved points
Once a point is approved, record it as closed. A new comment should explain whether it is a new issue, a regression or a change requested by the buyer. This prevents the project from cycling through the same discussion.
Sample review questions
How many revision rounds should we plan?
It depends on the brief, fit changes and test requirements. Ask what the sample fee includes and how additional rounds are charged.
Can comments be sent by message?
Yes, but consolidate them into a dated document or marked-up images so the supplier has one controlled reference.
What makes a sample approvable?
Fit, measurements, construction, materials and intended function should meet the agreed target before the sample becomes the production reference.
Have a style in mind?
Send a sketch, tech pack or reference garment. We will reply with a development route.
